From the Stars


* Having hobbies is psychologically defined as having an activity or obsession that allows one to keep a state of calm in their lives when they are overloaded with work or just need some quiet time. For Ashley the Hedgehog this hobby was to stargaze. She would spend hours at night just watching the sky looking at the starts everything from red giant stars to blue wolf stars she loved the shinning that came from each one. She would sit the telescope by her bed just incase she fell asleep while watching the night skies outside in the deep forest. Her cabin was a medium sized cabin with a modern feel to it with pocelain mini statues on the mantle of the fireplace and plush toys on the couches and chairs of vaorious origin and type. It was a hot July night when he life would change forever.*

Ashley:*laying on her bed gazing out of the window with the telescope in nothing but a tank top and her underwear in an attempt to keep cool* Ah there you are.....let's see who's this one....*gets her quick reference book and a coordinance book of various stars* Oh you're XR-77...you're a sneaky tiny star huh? *She kept looking through the various formations and came to a stop at a glowing red star*.....Huh.....*she tumbs through the book but cannot find this new star anywhere*.....Now who in the world are you?

*The object began to get brighter and brighter every two minutes then every minute then every second as a red ring flew out across the sky away from the object as it entered the planet's atmosphere*

Ashley: Oh no it's an asteroid....*jumps up getting on her laptop and uses a map and trajectory program to plot the course finding out the object would crash just a mile from her home. She threw on some sweat pants and runs outside watching as it came closer and closer loudly rumbling as she prayed to herself* Please burn up, please burn up, please burn up!

*The object suddenly broke into smaller pieces and howled over small chunks dropping off of it as a seperate piece flies slightly to the north and impacts on a hill visible from her house. After a moment she realizes it's not made of stone it is a metallic hollow object. She hears the crunching and grinding of metal in the distance as the object slams into the deepest part of the woods. As she watches in shock she sees an emberous glow coming from the hill near her house. She quickly grabbed her flashlight and hiking boots walking for ten minutes to get to a smouldering crater with something in the bottom*

Ashley:...Oh my god....the space program's got nothing on this *gets a stick and starts to probe at some of the debris flipping over a small piece of metal seeing some fingers and gasps* Oh no! *she grabs a piece and quickly lets go getting burned from the heat but ignores the pain reaching back down and lifting the chunk off of a crimson hedgehog with black tipped spines. The other lay on his stomach appearing to be dead* Oh......poor thing *gently touches the side of his face and touches the side of his neck feeling a very strong pulse. She quickly grabs him and starts to drag him down the hill and into her house gently pulling him to the couch and laying him down. She looks over his form amazed that he was untouched by the impact except for his clothes being nothing but shreds and charred strips his flesh was left uncut, unbruised, and unburnt*.....amazing.........*she shakes her head from her astonishment and gulps getting nervouse as she slowly pulls what was left of his clothing off of him and quickly covers him up with some extra bed sheets putting a pillow under his head. She then goes to her front door locking it tight to make sure no one could opent it from the outside then she went from window to window closing the curtains and goes to her room locking her door and closing her window shutting the curtains and turns on the TV to the news*

Reporter: We are here live at the ground zero impact site of an asteroid that hit just a few minutes ago. We have recieved news that the space station picked it up on its radar earlier this afternoon and tracked it until it hit here in the southern woods behind me. The military has set up a half a mile perimeter around the impact zone to avoid possible radioactive contamination of the press and public. We hope to bring you more details as this amazing story unfolds.

Anchor: Now just a quick question what has the overseer of the science crew telling the press about how large the asteroid is?

Reporter: Well they've only said that it is approximately four hundred feet long and two hundred feet wide with an ovular shape to it preimpact but when it hit the stratosphere it broke into millions of pieces as the air friction burned against it. We have been informed to tell anyone who saw or has one of the debris pieces to not touch or go near it due to possible radioactive waves being put off from the asteroid.

Ashley:...That was no asteroid......asteroids aren't made of dark colored refined steel....I'll ask the guy in the morning if he's up *She shuts off the TV and gets back into her tank top and underwear turning a small fan on high and lays sweating trying to sleep and finally dozes off*
